Is it safe to drink softened water?

Softened water from a salt-based system contains slightly elevated sodium levels — usually 20–40mg per liter for moderately hard water. For most healthy adults this is not a concern, but people on sodium-restricted diets may prefer to run an unsoftened cold line to the kitchen tap.
Salt-free conditioners don't add anything to the water at all — the mineral content is unchanged, only the form.
Vinson and Sill installs both types and can help you choose based on your water quality and health considerations.
